nifty thrifty.

I satisfy my retail therapy here in tiny Oakland by going junking at Nifty Thrifty. I raked yesterday and have now opened up the door to buying things for my future apartment in Minneapolis! I am especially loving everything Pyrex right now! I'll post a picture of the Nifty window shortly because I love the painted lettering on the front window. Pretty fun finds right??

more christmas.

mule tide carols being sung by the fire...

Here I am in Broken Bow, Nebraska spending time with the fam and with my Aunt Jan's wonderful new mules, Jack and Buck! I love their furry ears. A blessed holiday to everyone!

for your desk...

I hope one day I have enough money to support buying an entirely wonderful desk/ workspace/ office like this one from Pottery Barn. I am especially loving their Charger Station this season, only $79! Get it here!

what to wear.

I found these images in the latest Teen Vogue..yes I read Teen Vogue. Although it's usually more edgy than my liking, I find it really fun to look through. These were so yummy. I love the bold use of pattern of course but what I was drawn to the most was the colors. Bright golden yellows with magentas, blacks, teals...bold but how wonderful! The dress on the top (my favorite) is by Hanii y Anorak, although I couldn't find it online. For a little milder look, you could go for the silk reversible skirt by Cynthia Rowley.

halligan norris.

I got to see Hallie at work this weekend and was reminded of what fabulous work she does! I had to put some of my favorites up today to show you. Everything is truly exquisite! You can order all of these pieces from her website halligannorris.com. Shown above is the 2 Sweet brooch, the single bell necklace which she says has just enough twinkle for only $145, the Lickety Split brooch, and the adorable Tiny the Elephant Memory Necklace, which is packaged with a piece of paper and pencil to write down a special moment you want the person recieving it to remember and Tiny will help them remember it!

philadelphia.

I just got back from a wonderful long weekend in Philadelphia to visit my dear friends. The whole weekend was a visual feast. Just being in Hallie and Haylie's apartment takes you into a world of old time whimsy..and who doesn't want to be taken there. It was a sweet time with great friends.

for your desk.

I live by my to do lists and when I spotted these post it's, I had to share them! Kate Spade's 1234 post it's are a must for anyone's desk!

garnet hill.

I have loved this company for quite a while and am always drawn particularly to their children's bedding. I was delighted to see some great holiday additions this winter. Their holiday cross-stitch sampler makes me want to curl up and be an old lady for the day! I'm gonna wait to see if it goes on sale..I also loved their hats and mittens advent calendar which is unfortunately sold out..maybe I could make my own and you too!

what to wear...

...Buffalo Check. I love the mix of the smaller and larger scale from J.Crew. I don't know what it is about the winter that makes me go crazy for plaids and checks.

linnet.

Thanks to All Over Print, I came upon Linnet, an elegant online shop with exquisite linens, ribbons, laces, and buttons. I was especially taken with their linen towel cloths, seen above. Seeing their textiles definitely brought me back to shopping for ribbons and trims in Southern France...

i'm dreaming of a...

...pink christmas. Everytime I happen upon the cover of Blueprint's December issue, my heart skips a beat. I love the idea of beginning to see Christmas in other hues besides green and red, like this sea of gold and pink. Target has a lovely white faux tree that I could see decked out in ornaments of bright fuschias, oranges, and turquoise...

nifty gifty.

Although slightly ridiculous at first glance, this American Eagle hat offers a fun and fresh take on a hat and gloves. I can imagine prancing along in this with my red peacoat on, smiling because I am incredibly warm and because..well it's ridiculous! I just bought this for my little sister for christmas!

quote du jour.

volksfaden.

I happened upon the website www.volksfaden.de while perusing the blogs today. It is an online shop specializing in cotton fabrics from Amy Butler, Robert Kaufman and others. What I responded to the most was the way they displayed their prints on old photographs. How great.

'tis the season.

Ok..in twenty years, when I am sending out Christmas cards, these are the ones I am sending! Again from the lovely tiny prints.
