the up-do tote.

To carry around all your needs for the perfect up-do! I just submitted this into the Amy Butler Sew Inspiring Contest where you had to design a bag inspired by Amy in some way or another. I was thinking of the things that always seem to be randomly floating around in my suitcase and my hairdryer and straightener are always the ones! This bag will keep them snug and organized on your weekend getaways and they'll be ready to hang up in the powder room when you arrive!

revamping an old tradition.

For part of my portfolio work, I am creating this series of dishtowels give a new spin to the vintage Days of the Week embroidery patterns. Instead of ironing and baking pies, our modern girl is seen blogging on Mondays, working out on Tuesdays, crafting on Wednesdays...and more! They will be hand screen printed on old flour sack dishtowels with hand embroidered details. So here is your little sneak peek! Hope you like them!

great print.

I was looking on Oh Joy today and loved this print and application by textile designer Maija Louekari. See more work here.

treasures from bella dia.

Bella Dia was one of the first blogs I happened upon and I still like to pop in and see whats new. I have always been a huge fan of her little houses made of felt and the most precious detailed embroidery. These mushroom huts are the newest addition..see more detailed pictures and the rest of her little houses here!

good morning martha.

Martha having a chat with her executive assistant in her corner office..oh to be a fly on the wall.

oh kate.

Yummy all over every page..and how wonderful is it that the new Spring section header is entitled "brilliant gems"?? I have my eye on the Miranda sandals..get them here!

looking down, looking up.

Went for a walk in beautiful Savannah this morning and was loving this magnolia tree.

making dresses and such.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at the fashion building, draping more dresses for my portfolio...Rascal Flatts kept me going. I wore a great new 1958 calendar apron I got over break which was wonderful for holding my pencils and scissors. My pin holder pictured above was a Nifty Thirtfy buy. Not bad for $2...

going, going, gone.

I enjoyed a lovely lunch at my favorite, Back in the Day bakery with Emily and Paige. Among my indulgences were a chicken curry sandwich and this exquisite Cali- Vanilla cupcake.

fall 2008.

I have been scouring Style.com looking at the yummy new Fall things..One of my favorites was Michael Kors (top three) because of the fifties references in silhouettes and I love the glasses they are wearing. The bottom two were from Tracy Reese..great combination of materials and color. I am seeing TONS of elaborate and elegant hats and loving it, so pull 'em out! Also, lots of beautiful mustard yellows and greens and deep purples..

wish i was there...

A picture I snapped while visiting Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera last February.

style me pretty.

With weddings on the mind this weekend, I wanted to hilight Style Me Pretty, a site soon-to-wed Katie and Ashlea and many others brought to my attention. It is a treasure trove of images and ideas. You know I love a good mood board, and Abby has tons of beautiful ones posted from brides that tell stories of color and whimsy. Above are two of my favorites..I love the yellow cardigan over the dress mixed with the merlot and lime, and the different patterned groomsmen socks?? How much better can it get?

to a sweet match...

I headed back to Texas this weekend to celebrate some of my best friend's wedding festivities..the yummiest mexican food, much needed laughs with great friends, staying in a beautiful home, petit fours, final fittings..It couldn't have been better. To all my sweet Lovey Dovey readers, Aryn, Ashlea, Megan, Lindsey, Doober!, and all the rest, love you tons and had SO much fun catching up this weekend. Hugs!

work hard and eat strawberry ice cream.

Some photos from this week..A wonderful bowl of Archer Farms (go Target!) Strawberry ice cream on top of a fun find from Finders Keepers in Nebraska and a peek at a new project I'm working on in my bag at the Fashion building.. and my feet...

Whew! It has been a while..I have been busy, busy busy working on numerous projects as I am trying to complete my portfolio before I graduate. I will have new things to share soon! But for now, I have been hunting for new everyday shoes, and found a wonderful pair. I will be skipping around Savannah in my new yellow Sam Edelman sling backs. Get them here.
